In response to our monthly flash drive drawing, Raquel from Canada’s PEI writes,
I am a French Immersion Kindergarten teacher on Prince Edward Island. I teach in a small school and have a class of seven children coming in September. For the longest time, kindergarten teachers have been making scrapbooks with their children each year that contain examples of their work, anecdotal remarks, pictures, songs, etc.
This year, I would like to do something different. I would like to do an electronic portfolio with my students using flash drives. All of their paper work would be scanned in by the students (with help) and placed in folders to organize their documents. All of their computer created documents would be placed on it as well.
I believe that this is a great way to save and document children’s work and progress while keeping up with technology. The fact that they would be doing most of the work themselves would fit into our learning outcomes.
The technology budget for schools does not allow much for kindergarten classrooms, so every little bit helps. These flash drives would literally make all the difference in my classroom.
Thank you for your consideration!
Thank you, Raquel, for entering our flash drive giveaway contest!
